Tonight as I was walking across our balcony upstairs I noticed my blinds. Nothing irritates me more than blinds that are up like this AND especially uneven.IMG 0645

Sometimes a much needed break from the pressure and stress we put on our bodies through our grueling workouts is much needed. Workingout is certainly amazing for our bodies. Although, even amazing things need a break to replenish. I don't know about you guys but I am always a little hesitant on taking that break for fear of losing my gains and what I will feel like when I return. As much of a workout enthusiast I am, this thought has even crossed my mind, that fear of being way too comfortable NOT working out. I always have that thought in the back of my head, what if my interest gets lost and my break turns into longer? IMG 2842 2

"Love what you do, it does not feel like work!" I love that quote. It is very true! I started working at Salon Lorrene in Palatine Illinois from age 24-40. I became a hairstylist at age 21. Growing up I loved to play with my own hair, my doll's hair and other people's hair. I always knew I wanted to be a hairstylist. I did get my Associates in Arts degree and then spent time at ISU in Bloomington Illinois and it was in my third year of college I couldn't take It anymore and just wanted to come home and do something I was passionate about. IMG 0556

I have been asked over the years to write a meal plan or a cook book. I also have been asked numerous times what diet do I follow? I do not follow any diet. I believe diets fail! Personally the word "diet" alone will send me running back for the hills I came from. I think we need to get the word "diet" out of our heads and change it to "life style" because that is exactly what it is.IMG 0152

There is that one rule that helps me stay on track and not get discouraged if I have that cheat meal or have a night with a few drinks.. It is called 80/20. It is what we do 80% of the time with whatever we do that will make the most impact. The holidays are here and still approaching. I am not an avid drinker of alcohol, but I do like my occasional weekend binge drinking, no just kidding, but I do enjoy having a few drinks at times on the weekends or especially around the holidays. IMG 9825 2

I am part 'Old school" and part "New school" for sure! Does anyone else enjoy past time old school projects? We are just over here trying to mix it up and keep it fun while being stuck indoors.IMG 1746
