"Love what you do, it does not feel like work!" I love that quote. It is very true! I started working at Salon Lorrene in Palatine Illinois from age 24-40. I became a hairstylist at age 21. Growing up I loved to play with my own hair, my doll's hair and other people's hair. I always knew I wanted to be a hairstylist. I did get my Associates in Arts degree and then spent time at ISU in Bloomington Illinois and it was in my third year of college I couldn't take It anymore and just wanted to come home and do something I was passionate about. IMG 0556

Seong Hea's Martial Art's Academy

This, this right here, this hug right after the final bell rang in my fight was a symbol of someone who believed in me. It was a moment we both knew all our hard work paid off. It is my trainer telling me "great job" without saying a word.IMG 2503

Striking Arts Academy in Wauconda, IL

I am fortunate enough to have met our friend Kyle McElroy and my current trainer Tommy Bach at the same exact time in 1997. They were both teaching my very first kickboxing class together. Kyle went his separate way to a school called Z's Martial Arts. I feel like the story behind these two amazing instructors and their journey in the martial arts world is quite difficult to capture in one article. I talk quite a bit about Tommy in my articles because I am his student and train at his studio currently on a regular bases. In this particular article I will try to capture our dear friend for many many years, Kyle MceElroy and the talent he poses and his ability to pass it on to others.IMG 4204
